Going into Month Two
So heading into month two of training I was now starting to change my eating habits. I was also trying to do more reading. I have always been a pretty avid reader but seeing I was looking to workout my brain as well my body seeing the brain is considered muscle, I looked to just read even more. I will get into this a bit more in another post. I was also doing meditation to workout the spiritual. I will get into this in a separate post as well. I felt all these were vital in adopting an all around healthier lifestyle.
I had now made it a daily habit to look for used gym equipment for sale locally online. A couple days after my first weigh in I hit pay dirt. Someone was selling a barely used rowing machine for like $50 which was perfect for my budget. I jumped on it and was lucky enough to get it.
With my little personal philosophy of just getting into the garage gym and doing something I thought it would be a great idea to have a variety of things to do. I love doing calisthenics but it can get monotonous. I really wanted to score a bench press but the ones online were a bit pricey. I thought to just practice patience till the right deal came along. I was also saving up to buy a couple of other items that weren’t commonly sold used online such as a real pull up bar and a dip bar. I knew it would all come in due time.
After staying the course for a month I had no problem investing in the gym. It was already shaping up and I still hadn’t spent nearly as much as I would have on a gym membership. I also looked at it as an investment in myself. Like I did with the pec deck I gave it a lot of thought before actually buying the rowing machine. Would I use it? I didn’t want to buy anything I wasn’t going to use. So I promised myself I would use it regularly. I am very proud to say that I have kept those promises.
The rowing machine was nearly brand new. The guy said he barely used it and it looked it. It wasn’t a cheap one either brand new it cost a few hundred dollars. For just over $100 I had a pec deck and a rowing machine. It was time to get it in!
